so, how do i begin the very first post… some talk of consistency as the virtue of an ass (and the fact that i am horribly inconsistent, and hence or otherwise, not an ass)… let me leave all that humbug aside and start with my pet ravings.
issue#1: i am waiting to hear from my publisher. he’s like travelling somewhere in this indian subcontinent and so on. but i want him to write back to me. i want to be brainstorming ideas. i want to decide what shade of ochre, or black, or blue-red-white, or whatever colour would look good for a cover of a poetry volume. i want to be obsessed. and he is not around. and i am checking mail every half hour or so, like someone tuning in to listen to hurricane updates (which i guess people in the wherever do by leaving the radio on all the time)… enough of issue #1.
issue #2: our chief minister has announced the revival of samathuvapurams. where people can leave equally. which works good in theory, but in practice, the dalit homes are made to be painted blue (or some-other distinguishing colour). you can change anything in this damn world but untouchability (or caste) will find its way of expression. sick.
thats it for now. i will be back to bitch on lots more.
I wonder why no dravidian leaders are condemning Thevar’s act of voilence. Is Dravidian movement limited to Brahmin Bashing.
I suspect the entire Dravidian movement (of course I do not suspect Periyar) that their philisophy is based on Brahmin Hatred. They don’t have any respect for dalits. For e.g. Karunanidhi wrote script for Veera Pandiya Kattabomman. In that movie a Pallar – Sundaralingam was potrayed as joker. Why Karunanidhi who himself a barber hate a Pallan.
I think Dalits should reject the Dravidian movement who beneficaries much more rigoursly practise casteism than its original inventors.
